Bonarch Draft provides MEP coordination and clash detection in Dubai for architecture firms, consultancies and fit-out contractors. We combine your consultants’ MEP and structural models with the architecture in Navisworks, find and prioritise the clashes, and give each one a proposed resolution, so conflicts are solved in the model, not on site.

How we Work

You send the discipline models: architectural, structural and MEP. For meaningful coordination, MEP models should be at least LOD 300.

Federation: we combine the models in Navisworks and run clash tests between each pair of disciplines.

Clash review: clashes are grouped, false clashes are removed, and the rest are prioritised.

Clash report: each clash comes with a proposed resolution and the discipline responsible for fixing it, delivered as HTML or Excel, or as BCF for ACC and Revizto.

Coordination drawings: combined services drawings, ceiling void sections, builder's work drawings and a coordinated RCP, where your scope includes them.

What you receive

Every coordination round produces a combined coordination model and a clash report. Where your scope includes coordination drawings, we also deliver combined services drawings showing all systems on one plan, ceiling void sections, builder’s work drawings for openings in walls and slabs, and a coordinated reflected ceiling plan (RCP).

What your MEP models need for coordination

The LOD of MEP models is set by your consultant, since they produce them. For meaningful coordination, MEP models should be at least LOD 300: correct geometry, size and position for ducts, pipes and trays. At LOD 350 they also show connections, supports and maintenance clearances, so coordination can go further.

The clashes we find most often

The conflicts that come up on almost every project:

Ducts clashing with beams, or ducts crossing fire-rated walls without fire dampers
Not enough depth above the ceiling, especially in corridors where every system runs
Sprinklers clashing with light fittings or diffusers
Drainage pipes clashing with beams, since they need a fall and can’t simply be moved
Cable trays clashing with ductwork
No access space left for equipment maintenance

One-off or ongoing coordination

Coordination runs in two ways:

One-off, on a finished model: around 1 to 3 weeks for a fit-out or villa
Periodic, during the project: a clash round and a coordination meeting every one or two weeks, until the end of the design stage

Do you model MEP, or do we need to provide models?

We don't model MEP. We coordinate the models your MEP consultant produces, checking them against the architecture and each other. For meaningful coordination, MEP models should be at least LOD 300.

Do you work with Navisworks? Do you provide NWC or BCF?

Yes. Models are combined and clash-tested in Navisworks. Reports are delivered as HTML or Excel, and as BCF if your team uses ACC or Revizto, so issues go straight into your platform.

Do you only report clashes, or propose solutions too?

Both. Clashes are grouped, false clashes removed and the rest prioritised. Each clash in our report comes with a proposed resolution and the discipline responsible for fixing it.

Who holds design responsibility?

Your MEP consultant. We don't carry out MEP calculations or design. Our role is coordination, and design responsibility stays with your consultants throughout.

How long does a coordination round take?

A one-off coordination on a finished model, such as a fit-out or villa, takes around 1 to 3 weeks. Periodic coordination usually runs a clash round every week or two until the end of design.
